Adverts ADVERTS

Richard Shops

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

I remember a big band number set in a department store for Richards shops. All singing and dancing as clothes were run past the screen and the Second Generation dancers fresh from the Seaside Special springing about. It reached a crescendo with "It really must suit me!" and the tagline was, "Come buy your clothes at Richards Shops!"

Richards survived Thatcher, finally closing it's doors in March 2000, but it will always be remembered for the pretty things advert!!!

well remembered Svat, those were the EXACT lyrics. The ad. song ended with a sickly sighing 'ahhhhh'! Obviously Richard Shops are now long defunct, but does anyone know when the chain went under? I imagine it wouldn't have survived Thatcher's recession of the early '80s.
