"Every bubble's passed its FIZZical!" yelped the Ernie Bilko-voiced Head Bubble in the cartoon ads for this knobbly-bottled orangeade. Very popular in the '70s. The idea of devouring an entire army of bubbles and then belching out their remains appealed to the juvenile mind.

I LOVED Corona fizzy pop!!! I remember going to my nanans house every saturday afternoon throughout the 60s n 70s and indulging in bottles of the stuff along with Mr Kiplings fancy cakes, World of Sport,Grandstand, everybody being told to shut up while the pools results came on and then..........Dr Who with William Hartnell or Jon Pertwee. Sometimes we stopped long enough to have to endure The Black & White Minstrel show! lIoved Corona pop cos it ALWAYS,always went up your nose... you know what i mean don't ya? it was that fizzy! My nanan was known as Nanny Pop becos of the pop we got when we went there as opposed to the other nanan who was Nanny Dog cos..... she had a dog! Simple really when your 7 years old.
Bring back Corona and big burps!

My husband Cliff worked for Corona Soft Drinks from 1968 to 1973. His Saturday boy was Alec Mulligan and his Supervisor was Barry Hopwood, they are still in touch today. The Corona range was of exceptional quality, the products they carried were lemonade, limeade, dandelion and burdock, orangeade and american cream soda, tango orange and lemon, idris shandys, Hunts mixes, pickling vinegar BEST EVER ginger punch, Mortons pie fillings, Corona tinned blackcurrants, Cassilda Cream Sherry (Christmas only) and many other agency lines in the winter to boost n.s.v. Corona was the first Company to give us 3 weeks holiday a year, sick pay, profit sharing and pension scheme. An exceptional Company to work for. Britvic should be ashamed to have allowed such quality products to slip into oblivion.

Hi, wish I'd known about this website sooner. My late dad worked for Corona in the late 50's when Beecham took over but I don't think he received a pension. Can you tell me anything more like when it was introduced?
Do you have any pamphlets about the pension scheme or where I can find out more information?
Thanks, hope58

My nan used to get pop from the corona man for our weekly visits, every saturday. The cherryade was my absolute favourite, and many a good memory was made over those glass bottles with the chubby-cheeked jolly man on them. Sadly my nan passed away when i was 21, but i will always look back on those days with a smile.
