Daley Thompson's Decathlon

This was on both Spectrum and Commodore. It featured the decathlete Daley Thompson (obviously) taking part on all his decathlon events. To play you had to almost always hit certain keys or a joystick continuously as fast as you possibly could. It was exhausting! Indeed, it was a wonder keyboard buttons at the time lasted so long. If they made games like this now our controllers would be messed up straight away. Still, most people would agree that they dont make them like they used to.

The trick i used was to wrap a battery in a flannel and rub it across the Z & X keys on my spectrum. You could only manage 10 minutes of this game because of the pain it caused in your hands and forearms!!

This was just the best game ever. We used to hammer the hell out of my brother's ZX Spectrum all the time and we played it at the arcades when we were on holiday. I'd love to see it back.
