Chris de Burgh

Singer / Songwriter Chris de Burgh, born Christopher John Davison on 15th October 1948 in Argentina.

His music has been popular all over the world & his most famous song from 1986 is "The Lady in Red", which reached no.1 in the charts in 25 countries including the UK.

Chris was signed to A&M Records between 1974 & 2004, but he now has his own label, 'Ferryman Productions'.

    Isn't he Irish? I know that he lives there now, even if he was born abroad. I find Chris a bit of a curate's egg- good in parts. 'Lady In Red' and 'Ship To Shore' were enjoyable tracks, as is 'I Love The Night (The Ecstasy Of Flight)' from his '84 album 'Man On The Line'. Several of the other songs on that album are diabolical though, and my most loathed & hated Christmas record EVER is 'A Spaceman Came Travelling'. I don't write him off, but in general he's not my cup of tea.
