Van Halen were one of the very few rock bands to sell more than 10 million albums in the US, putting them up there with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc! Their debut album, called 'Van Halen', was released in 1978.

My memories include giving a lad a lift to 'Monsters of Rock' at Donnington because he really wanted to see the band. He sat almost silent through most of their set and suddenly came alive when they played 'Jump' - it was the only thing he'd heard!
