The story of Penny (Jan Francis) and Vince (Paul Nicholas), who once upon a time were supposed to get married, but didn't. Years later, they meet up, and the series followed their on again, off again, relationship. At the time it was very popular, but in retrospect, it was all that was bad about sitcoms of the day.

Contrary to other people's opinions of this programme, I really liked it when it was first broadcast, and I still find it funny now. The two main characters were very likeable, but for me there was another reason why it appealed to me. This was that the leading actress Jan Francis, reminded me so much of a girl from my class at school a few years earlier, who I had a massive crush on! I never saw her again after leaving school, so when I watch this programme I imagine that my old classmate may look how this actress did when she was a little older. I'm still as soppy now!!
