HEAD Bags

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

HEAD bags were very popular back in the late 80s. If I remember correctly, lots of boys had a long sports bag made by HEAD. We kept the strap extra long to make it as awkward to carry as possible. Or was this just at my school?

Oh yes. I had a lilac one with pink piping - thought I looked amazing carrying that. It weighed a ton with all of my textbooks in it though.

I had a grey Head bag with mint green piping and handles/straps. They were quality bags with the little head logo shaped zip-pulls - class and lasted ages too! My friend had one of the bright pink head bags, really wanted that colour myself. Don't remember the lads in our school carrying them by the long strap, they tended to be carried by one of the handles over the shoulder, with the other handle left hanging down.

Cant remember if mine was a HEAD bag, it may have been, but it was black, with the smaller zip off bag, but it had bright illuminous orange handles and on the front had 2x illuminous orange mesh type pockets, the mesh was a square pattern, on the top it had 2 zips so a long flap came up to allow you in the bag. And someone bully always unzipped the bag off the end and started lobbing it aroung the classroom playing pigging in the middle with it. Finally when you got it back all your pencils were broke.

Head bags were a big craze at my school. You did have to have the strap at its longest, and you had to have the biggest bag they made - those huge ones with the zip off little bag on the end. Girls had them too in pink or baby blue.
