Cheesecloth Shirts

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Cheesecloth shirts were unisex clothing items. You could get them in every colour, no one could tell if they weren't ironed and they felt lovely and light in the summer months. Girls used to tie them in a bow above the waist.

Both my older sisters had these in the early '70s, I can't remember my older brother having one though, and me defo not! Always seen as a throwback to the 60s when they were made famous by certain bands going to places like India.

I felt so super cool in 1977 when I got a cheese cloth blouse with a tie at the front, I wore it in summer one its own and in winter over my polo neck jumper.

I loved these. I had 3 or 4 and they were the short sleeved cropped ones that tied at the front. We wore them with flared jeans in the summer and they were always very light colour check in pink or blue. Id love one now for Festivals but we were SO much thinner then :)
