Cabana Bars

Cabana was a milk chocolate bar in a blue wrapper. Inside you found a delicious coconut filling and chunks of cherry. They were made by Rowntrees in York, and were discontinued in the early 90s. It was totally irresistable! I suppose the closest thing to it these days is a Bounty or the old Cadbury's Coconut Boost - but they're just not the same!

I remeber cabanas from the late 70s early 80s they were the business but i also rember the ruffle bar which was similar to the cabana shape size weight etc... imho the ruffle was a cheaper version of the cabana but there is still hope becuse they have just brought out the ruffle bar after a long absence from the shops as any of you guys thought about a petition with all your forum members get them to put their mark on it and whip it off to the chocolate factory,,,,

Yes, I remember these chocolate bars, they were yummy!! I think the advert for them went something like this (to the tune of the Banana Boat Song)??Co-co-nut, ca-ra-mel, cherries and the cho-co-late, daylight come and I wanna go home, Ca-baaaanaa, cabana, cabana, cabana etc? Don't know the rest!!

Cadburys make a very nice cherry and coconut bar covered in chocolate for the Australian market - called "Cherry Ripe". Used to be able to get them in the Australia Shop in Covent Garden before it closed down...
