Potato Puffs were a sort of crisp manufactured by Burton Biscuits. The came in varieties of Ready Salted, Cheese and Onion and Salt and Vinegar. I'm sure that they have gone out of production now but who knows... if enough people remember them and still want them, there could be a Potato Puff revival! You have missed out the best one of all, tomato sauce flavour. Great taste and red fingers lol, ate them every day from 1959 to 1963.

I was just thinking about them and googled it to see where I could buy them. Absolutely gutted that Burtons stopped making them :( read all the comments since 2008 gosh 5 years and still not made a comeback :-( this would be a real money maker! Everyone loves potato puffs!!

Were these those sort of hollow thin curved tubes that came in a sort of tomato flavour? I have vague recollection of buying these at the school tuck shop. They were my favourite crisps alongside Snaps (spicy tomato with a dragon on the packet?) and KP Discos (S&V)

Hi all,fantastic to find these views about the BEST crisps ever.
I loved the original Walters Barbique/tomatoe ones when I was at school in the 60's and NOTHING comes close.What crap they now sell in the shops now,"Pringles"
Taste like chewed crisps flattened out and rebaked... yukkk
I managed to find thinner cheese and tomatoe Burtons ones up to a few years ago but they are no more.
I contacted Burtons a few years ago offering to buy the equipment that made them but was told it was sold off.
If anyone has any informationas to the whereabouts of the equipment of means to manufacture these beauties please contact me and I will pursue the introduction of these gems

I remember them so well, I sed to get 3d a day to by a packet at school and on Thursdays I got a tanner (6d) to get a Beano as well.
