Battling Tops

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

The idea behind Battling Tops was that you chose the top part, then chose the spinning part and wound the string around the base. Then you placed it in a notch in the board and pulled real hard (not hard enough to break the string though) and watched it "battle" everybody else's top. Last one spinning won.

    I remember this in seventies , names like Hurricane Hank . Loved it !!

    what a great though very simple game this was. I have fond memories of playing this game in the late seventies...mesmerised to see which top would stay up longest!! didnt they have individual names like `tornado'or similar??

      Hurricane Hank, Twirling Tim, Dizzy Dan, Smarty Smitty, Super Sam, and Tricky Nicky. I have three and would like the others. On the hunt now!

    Ya what now!?!?! lol thats my description, im so happy *tear* jk jk well i still have my dads old battle tops game...although i need to replace all the strings ^_^' I still play it by myself when im bored. i know im a loser.
