Starring the late great John Thaw, Inspector Morse ran for many years and repeats are still shown today. Set in and around Oxford, Thaw - who was only ever known as Morse in the show (no first name was ever given) solved many murder mysteries - most of which happened in the university. The TV series was based on the books by Colin Dexter.
