Village People

The six guys that comprised the Village People came to be known in the 70's for their dress style as much as anything else - one in leather, one as a red indian, one as a builder etc., all due to their mega hit "YMCA".

The Village People also had major hits with "In The Navy" and "Go West". They continued making albums throughout the 80's and 90's too.

I seem to recall reading that only one member of the band was actually gay (I couldn't tell you which, mind you). Reminds me of an article I was reading not so long ago somewhere online about a girls' magazine in the 80s (probably something like Just Seventeen, or a similar publication) that was carrying an article about how dishy Marc Almond was. I'm sure he would hae been quite flattered, if nothing else!

I was such an airhead I didn't realize they were gay! I guess my teenage hormones were in overload...lol. I thought the Indian was hot and I liked to dance to their music!
