Poppin Hoppies

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Please someone tell me they remember Poppin Hoppies. I played with this during the late 60's early 70's. They were little bug type things on springs and suckers and you pressed them all down and had to catch them as they released and jumped up, to score points.

I had the same set of Poppin Hoppies from early 70's. I had forgotten all about it until walking through Toys r Us yesterday and I saw that they are selling an updated version. I bought a set, of course. My 15 yr old daughter, 7 yr old son and me had great fun playing it. My set from back in the day was the one pictured above (blue box) the one I bought is the yellow box available on eBay. For anyone thinking of buying a new set, they were on sale for £4.99.

I recently picked a boxed complete one up at a 'car boot sale.' I have no memories of it, but this is by far the most popular game in our house at the moment ( i've got 4 children 2-10 ). It's simple enough for all the family, and extremely tense and exciting. Though one of my hoppies is over enthusiastic, and another seems to sit for hours. Great game.

Hi Denise, not only do I remember Poppin' Hoppies, but I also remember bugging my parents INCESSANTLY to buy it for me and finally got it for Xmas. The only thing that has survived is one little yellow Poppin Hoppie I kept all these years for some reason. Here's a virtual online version of the game to rekindle old memories... http://onthelinemedia.com/egames/hoppies/hoppies.html PJF
