Lil' Me Dolls

Lil' Me Dolls were hard plastic dolls about 4" high. There were four types available: a brunette, a blonde, a red head (with cute freckles) and an african-american dolly. Lil' Me Dolls were the BEST!

I still have the entire collection of all the girls and many many outfits. Their outfits were semi-hard plastic and they snapped on and off. They even had accessories like a hand mirror or a bouquet of roses. They had shawls and capes and crowns and their hats came with hairpieces attached to them.

There was also a red-haired princess Lil' Me Doll. She had a pink plastic cape, a crown with long lush red ringlets and a beautiful skirt. But my favorite ever Lil' Me Doll was the brunette one. She had this lovely 1800's outfit with a gorgeous large hoop skirt (green/ blue) with a train off the back. She had a nice shawl to go with it and a beautiful huge Scarlett O'Hara type hat with brown curls cascading from it. They also had a little dog with a leash, a boutique and every accessory you could think of.

I still have my Lil' Me Dolls preserved in near mint condition and I love them so much. I have some of the books that accompany them but they were flimsy and got ruined. This was a fun toy for a girl of older than 4 (the parts are small, they should not be given to a young child).

I'm sure as a girl you'd remember acting out scenes or scenerios with Lil' Me Dolls because they could be anything you wanted them to be with their interchangeable snap on outfits. They were more than just toys, they were imagination at work! I loved them and love them still as an adult.

I just came upon a box in storage that has two of these dolls new in their sealed boxes and 4 unopened boxes that have outfits in them. They are all from 1982 0r 1983 depending on the box. Does anyone have an idea what the value of these are? I think I am going to auction them on ebay, but i cant find anything to compare them to.

I had these dolls as a child. I was born in 78'. I played with "Lil Me dolls" and My Little Ponies more than Barbie dolls. I was never really interested in Barbie.

I've been able to find some of these on eBay but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of them out there, or at least if there is, everyone is holding onto them. The blonde's name is Valerie, the brunette's name is Cathy and the redhead is Angie. There is the Li'l Me Boutique that came with 2 outfits, there were an additional 18 outfits sold separately and one bride outfit that was a Special Offer that expired in 1983. I haven't seen anything about an African American one but that doesn't mean she doesn't exist, just that she is even harder to find. The photo provided by Rachael is of Cathy in the Paradise Princess outfit.

I've been looking for the names of these dolls for years. My mom never got rid of them and now our youger cousins play with them. We still ahve the house and six dolls, 3 blonds and 3 red heads. Some of the clothes have been lost but we still have most of the dresses and hats. I love them.

I have been trying for years to figure out what these dolls were named! I know I still have the dolls somewhere but all I can find is 4 pieces for them. One is a little ballerina skirt that is pink with blue polka dots, one white shirt, and 2 hats, one is a visor with blonde hair and the other looks to be a rain hat with red hair. If anyone knows of anyone selling these I would love to know! My younger sister and I would play with these for hours!!! I wish I never had to grow up and could still be playing with them right now! Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one who remembers them.

Lil' Me Dolls were made by Schaper and were also sold in the 80's in Mexico, made by Plastimarx. They are the same doll but in a different box.
