Jacko Monkey

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Jacko Monkey was a gorgeous monkey that was made by Chad Valley I think. It was easily one of my favourite toys in the early 70's and I still have two of them!

Jacko Monkey had plastic hands and feet and wore a stripey tee-shirt and trousers. His arms were above his head like he was swinging from a tree or something.

OMG! I just found this message board, and just found out the name of the monkey I have: Jacko monkey! I love mine. I have had him for 50 years! My grandmother bought him for me. I remember them hanging on a rope in Woolworth. I buy different clothes for him, most of them from my travels. He is very dear to me and my friends know it! I would love to share some pictures! He has an Instagram page: kestaly.

I so remember this monkey, I think it first started my lifelong love of monkeys which I've collected in various forms at various times of my life. I never had one but got to play with my sousins' monkeys.

check out ebay - I still have my Jacko - he will be 50 in August. Just had a new body made for him - they covered his old one with flesh coloured material. He looks amazing - didnt lose any of his character. My Mum took his arms off and sewed them so they hung down (easier to cuddle properly) I have done the same with the Jacko I gave my grandaughter - bought at a carboot. clarealien
