Toys TOYS

Gumby

Gumby was a toy line that was based around the American stop-motion animated television show of the same name created by Art Clokey of which there were a staggering 233 episodes. The titular character was made from a green clump of clay. The toys also featured his friends Pokey (an orangey-brown horse), Prickle (a yellow dinosaur), and Goo (a blue plane but looks like a dolphin).

There were also figures made of supplemental characters (the Blockheads, G and J). Various different Gumby toys have been made throughout the years but the most prominent ones have featured flexible wire skeletons inside a rubber housing, allowing you to bend Gumby and his pals in any which way. The Gumby toys were released by Jesco and were available as both single packs and multi-figure sets. The entire collection of Gumby figures were also available in a 50th anniversary collection. As well as the bendy toys there were also several other toy lines available of Gumby including plush dolls, keychains and a 1988 Colorform set.
