Cricket Doll

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Cricket was a life-like doll that was mechanical. She had a tape recorder in her back that would play tapes and her mouth would move as if she was the one speaking.

My brother put his Bon Jovi tape in her and it looked like she was Bon Jovi in drag!

I saw one of these on display in a store once but it refused to tak when I pressed the demo button. I've since heard the British Cricket on Youtube and she has a rather endearing, Jolly Hockeysticks upper class girl voice which you could like if you grew up with Enid blyton like I did! The American one sounds absolutely bratty, it would drive me mad in five minutes flat!

I had a black Cricket doll. She was sort of creepy looking. You couldn't do much with her hair. Lol. Nevertheless, I loved the creepy doll. She was so amazing, especially in the 80's. My brother, Kevin, was afraid of her. After a few years, he kidnapped her and threw her in the dumpster. Crappy ending, huh! I'd like another one but they are just as expensive today as they were in the 80's

I got my cricket doll when I was 6 years old for Christmas! I played with that doll so much! I let a causin borrow her and she broke it! I still have her though. My 4 year old playes with her all the time; I put her tapes in a tape player and she listens to her like that! I'm bidding on one right now on ebay! Wish me LUCK!

I love my Cricket doll. My co-worker and I sit around and look at pictures of me with her all the time. I still have mine, and I will never get rid of her. I like how she says, "Am I cute or what?" Yes, Cricket you are very cute!!!
