This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

"Mr can you tell me where my love has gone? Oh My Japenese Boy". Scottish housewife Aneka complete with kimono sang this 1981 one hit wonder. It would be banned today. Remember her on Top of the Pops possibly the same week as The Tweets and the Birdie Song. I think Aneka had one more release which failed to chart. So un-PC!

A great tune. We all loved this at the time. A powerful number one completely ignored by music compilers today who consider themselves knowledgeable because they've heard of Freddy Mercury.

I have the album and it's an interesting mix of disco, ballads and opera (Mary Sanderson is a trained opera singer). There are a couple of poor tracks on there but on the whole it's a very enjoyable album.

Aneka was Scottish Folk singer Mary Sandemann's alter ego. A truly awful record.
