The Great Egg Race

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

The Great Egg Race was a simply fantastic programme from the late 70s / early 80s fronted by Professor Heinz Wolff. Teams had to build simple wheeled devices powered solely by an egg! At the same time other teams had to solve engineering problems with limited materials and time. The grand-daddy to Robot Wars, Scapheap challenge et al.

I loved this programme but thought the idea of it was to build a contraption to get an egg from A to B without breaking it.
