The Crezz

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

I'm really pleased this one is in the list. I remember it being on, but actually very little about it other than Joss Ackland being in it (that's the impact it had, it was very poor!).

Anyway, the reason I'm pleased it's in your list is that at least I remember its existence but whenever I mention it to anyone, they think I've made it up!

I would have been 13 at the time. All I remember was the drinks cabinet being the bonnet of a car. Strange how for all these years I thought it was a VW Beetle?

I can remember the huge feature in TV Times, ironic since the series was a failure. IMO the writers never quite decided as to whether the show was a comedy or a drama.

I can recall this programme fairly well. ITV repeated it afternoons during the summer of 1978. The mini engine compartment drinks cabinet belonged to the character played by Nicholas Ball. I recall Briony Mc Roberts who played Joss Ackland's daughter Esther Bronte was rather dishy in a blonde wig. I can still recall the theme tune and the intro which was a sped-up film of a milk float moving along the crescent from house to house. Seem to recall there was a large feature about the series in TV Times around the time it was first shown. Definately a programme that should be repeated!.

Okay it got my head going remembering the Crezz. A few facts then- Made in 1976. Joss Ackland and Isla Blair. Only 12 episodes made. Set in london. Drama/soap. ITV did repeat it in the afternoons. How appropraite that was I dont know because their was definately some seventies topplessness and "adult themes" being shown there.

Hurrah! I thought it was just me as well. No one else remembers it. It was very late seventies. It was repeated I think in the afterrnoons. Joss Ackland was abit creepy in it wasnt he? There was a great mini motor car drinks cabinet. That seemd to stand out in my mind. Wasnt it a Georgian cresecent?

I recall this being around weekday lunchtime when I should have been at school. It was a sort of crescent of bed-sits in London. A fore runner of Eastenders? I think there some contraversial characters(at that time). Single parent, mixed race baby? and wasn't there a younger/older gay couple. I'd love to see an episode again.

Whoopee! I'm glad some-one else remembers this programme as well. What about the hunky gardener?
