Ripping Yarns

Michael Palin and Terry Jones (Monty Python) teamed up in the seventies to produce this series of 9 comedies. The comedies were spoofs of adventure stories found in dated boys' annuals and each episode was a different story.

The first was Tomkinson's Schooldays and in true Python style featured children caning the teachers, Tomkinson making a 14,000 ton ice-breaker ship in metalwork class and misbehaving children being nailed to the walls.

The other eight episodes were equally funny and had exciting names like "Across the Andes by Frog", "Roger of the Raj" and "Escape from Stalag Luft 112B".
