No. 73

"Hey you get ready get on your feet, get in the groove and hit the street, you never know what you'll see, down at 73."

This was a Saturday morning dose of kids TV, set in a house. It was a mix of cartoons, things to make and things to learn.

One thing that they did show you how to do, and I'm not sure it was a good idea really, was how to fall down stairs. They got a stuntman to fall down the stairs, then interviewed him shortly afterwards.

Neil Buccannan also made a burgalar alarm, using string, a tape recorder, a piece of card and a recording of dogs barking.

Source: http://www.paulmorris.co.uk/73/73.htm The above site tells you everything you could possibly want to know about 73. If anyone has any 73 recorded off-air, hang onto it as some later shows are missing from the archive. It's also affected by the same rights issues as other TVS shows.

I actually appeared on a number of No.73 shows - anyone remember the hovering wardrobe that went to the Isle of Wight? I did that. Andrea Arnold is now a famous film director - an Oscar and two BAFTAs so far! Pat Doyle (Alex) is a film composer (including one Harry Potter film!) Tony

This was great, Sandi and Neil and of course the sandwich game. Was a couple of guests on it who were rather naughty (i remember one pop star getting it on with a toy bear)
