Creamola Foam

Nestle's Creamola Foam Crystals were available to buy in the 1950s to 1998, when production from its Glaswegian factory ceased. They were a kind of powder that you added to water to make a foamy, refreshing drink. From memory it was available in a couple of flavours incuding raspberry, lemon and orange, then later on cola. It came in a tin and all you had to do was dissolve the soluble crystals in water for a colourful, fizzy drink.

Currently, there are a number of online petitions running to try to bring back Creamola Foam. Good luck to them!

I remember this really well as it was made a mile away from my house in rowntree mackintosh factory in hadfield. Also a bit of history my father Graham Hampson & John Stephenson both made a machine for putting the steel tin lid on the tin, when I was about 7 (circ 1979) for rowntree mackintosh. This machine was then copied & patnened by metal box.

Yeh was crazy on it and was so sad when they stopped it. I used to get a liquorish stick and dip in it (when mum wasn't looking). Glad to here they have re-invented it, but I bet it won't taste the same somehow.
