Chrysler 180 and 2 Litre

The Chrysler 180 and 2 Litre was a classic short run car, brought out by Chrysler just before the disastrous takeover by Talbot. They stuck a wedge-shaped body on it and it became the Talbot Tagora!

Basically a big Avenger, with a Rootes engine in the 2L, (as used in the Coventry Climax I'm led to believe) mated to a Chrysler TorqueFlite auto box, it was the first 'real' car I ever owned, and probably still the best (apart from my Land Rover).

Rare as rocking horse droppings, even then, now you're more likely to find the pope at your local RC church on Sunday than see one of these.

My old man had one of these Chrysler 180s when i was about 4 or 5. It was white,N reg and used to frighten the hell out of me cos the engine made so much noise. He traded it for an Austin Princess. Silly man.
