He-Man Figures

He-Man action figures were quite heavy as they were made of a rubbery plastic and some had a spring-loaded action. This action would enable He-Man or Skeletor to be able to throw a punch.

Accessories with the actual He-Man action figure would include a shield and sword for He-Man and a battle-axe (not his mother) for Skeletor. Other characters from the cartoon series were available, but no so popular.

He-Man also had another accessory which was a green and black tiger, which he could ride. Skeletor had Snake Mountain and He-Man and the rest of the Masters of the Universe had Castle Greyskull .

My parents wouldn't buy me this as they didn't approve of Skeletor and all the other ugly characters.

The He-Man toys were produced by Mattel and managed to earn the manufacturer a serious load of cash as it was released during the mass He-Man hype of the 80s. The original figures were released between 1982 and 1983 and included He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Beast Man, Zodax, Teela, Mer-Man and Stratos. When these proved insanely popular Mattel decided to release a whole new batch in 1983 including Faker I, Tri-Klops, Trap-Jaw, Evil-Lyn, Man-E-Faces and Ram-Man.

Mattel continued to make the He-Man figures until 1987 although there were a couple of European exclusives - Laser Power He-Man and Laser Light Skeletor available in 1988. Alongside the He-Man figures you could also buy figures from the spin-off series "She-Ra: Princess of Power".

Mattel released a new Masters of the Universe He-Man line in 2002 as well as a full commemorative series.

My brothers and I used to squeeze He-Man's rubber head to make him have a funny thin head!

It seems Action Jacks are now impossible to track down.My brother and I used to buy them from a little toy shop in Langley village. They were excellent little fellows with their equipment and little boxes,we had a few but all sadly gone....can't even find any on ebay !! Does anyone remember Super Striker ? It was the biggest Christmas present i ever got, with its rigid football pitch and little footballers with press down heads to kick the little footballs.Excellent.

I always liked the cat, Cringer/Battle Cat, and got the newer version. I wish I had also gotten the newer purple panther, too. I remember as a kid, they had a He-Man sword, and the boys would hold it in the air, and yell,'I Have The Power!!!'

I loved this when it was first shown and I still love it now. I'm fortunate enough to have some of the episodes on DVD. And just for the record Castle Greyskull was where the Sorceress lived. Skeletor lived at Snake Mountain.

A basket sat next to the Tv...in it were all my son's He-Man figures. I'd buy him one whenever i could while they were available, and he had almost one of every one ever made... He'd come rushing from wherever in the house he was to shout "I HAVE THE POWER!!!" along with He-Man.. started when he was about 2 yrs old...wonderful time...
