Twinkle

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Twinkle was a comic for little girls and I remember it had a cut out picture of a doll and then every week (I think) there would be a new outfit to cut out and you could dress your doll with it. Oh to be 5 again!

I adored Twinkle comic and all the wonderful characters. I remember that I sent in a button picture which was a piece of blue felt cut into a rabbit shape with a button stuck on as an eye and cotton wool for a tail. It got published in the magazine and I won a beautiful shiny purple Raleigh scooter which was much too big for me at the time. I still have the scooter in my loft but sadly I'm not sure whether we still have the comic - such happy days.

I loved this comic especially Nurse Nancy in the dollies hospital! I'm sure I had my picture printed in the magazine and received a tea set for it, still trying to find the copy!

I had a huge pile which got thrown out. I too would love to have them now - sign of growing old and nostalgic,

I loved my Twinkle comics! Was totally heart broken one dinner time when I went home from school only to find Mum down the orchard with all my Twinkle's on a bonfire!! No!! I cried for weeks. Would love to have kept them all. I would still read them even now! Silly Mum!

I remember Twinkle. I had the annual in 1973 for Christmas and I loved it. I also remember my favorite story in the comic book was something to do with a Doll Hospital. I still look for Twinkle today but with no luck.

Yes molly and her dollies - it was the first thing I looked at every week when I bought the comic
