Puffalumps

Puffalumps were a soft silky animal and looked like a pig/hippopotamus hybrid. You could get them in various pastel shades - mine was white.

The first time I went abroad I was 5 and had to hand over my Puffalimp to be put through the X-ray machine at customs. "Will he be alright?" I nervously asked the customs officer, "Of course - but he will come out green!", he quipped.

I went hysterical and Mum was furious with the guy. Needless to say, my Puffalump didn't make the return journey as hand baggage.

I have a yellow bear puffalump. It was originally my older brother's but as soon as i could crawl i continuously stole it from his room until I was allowed to keep him. I still have him although he is now very fragile and his material is almost paper-like, and when you look at him a good 40% of what you see is stuffing - he has some major holes! one of the most loved bears on this planet.

I got my white bunny when I was around 8 or 9 and she is still sitting in a box in my parents attic. One day soon I hope to bring her out to give to my 5 yr old as I know she will love her just as much as I did.

I recieved my puffalump when i was born. It was in my crib and, 19 years later, still sits on my bed. I will always love "puffa", not a very creative name.. I am aware. I have the gray mouse with the brown eyes and the christmas one that looks similar. He smells alittle funny, and has turned from a nice light blue color to a dirty brownish gray but he is perfect. Everyone in my family has had a turn at sewing some part of him back together. I believe the only thing keeping it from falling apart is the stitching everyone has done. The tail is hanging by a thread, literally. I just finished my first year of college, and puffa was at home. I missed him, but was worried that something would happen to him in the dorm room, so he stayed on my bed. As sad as this sounds, I love him.

I have a yellow bunny puffalump. My grandma gave it to me when I was 5. I used to toss it high in the air and let it hit the popcorn ceiling. Such fond memories. I'm so thankful I kept it after all these year. Some things should not be thrown away.
