Legions of Power

I remember that the Legions of Power figures were some of my favorite toys of the 80s. I still have two of them but no parts from the vehicles anymore.

The figures had hard plastic bodies with rubbery limbs and were only about a centimetre high. The good guys and bad guys were colour coded and all wore the same style of armour; with the exception of the two leaders.

Released in 1986 by Tonka the motorised machines all came as separate parts so you had to build them together. There were instructions showing you how to build the different Legions of Power vehicles or alternatively, you could just build "off the cuff". Every set included figures who were generally known as Lieutenants.

Here's the story behind Legions of Power:

"An earth space probe enters a distant solar system and explodes! Like meteors, mysterious high-tech components rain down on two warring planets.

Discovering vast power in these components, Wartech, the evil leader of Planet Konn, plans to take his Tech Dynasty and invase the nearby planey of Prolon

Jeffroon, leader of the good Star Legions, must use his newly developed Computer Power Units to build defense vehicles that will protect Prolon.

It's a war between armies of powerful new machines...Legions of Power!"

I'm looking to purchase some loose sets. Which ones do you have? I'm attempting to replace missing parts and figures. Lt. PC (prolon/red) seems to be the most difficult to come by. Thanks. Joshua

I remember them, and still have them. I have about 6 or 8 vehicles, and nearly all the pieces that came with them. (The large tire treads which were also used with small wheels as tank treads broke and got thrown away ages ago.) I have a large motorized walker and 2 small motorized tanks in addition to assorted non-motorized kits. The generic soldier bad guys were colored a dull greenish~tan, with dark green helmet and arms. The higher ranking bad guys were colored dark green, with various colored helmet and gloves (they were too small to have faces, so you told the characters apart by their colors). The generic soldier good guys were mainly white with blue helmet and arms. The higher ranking good guys were mainly blue with various colored helmets, gloves, and belt/short pants. Most of the pieces were generic grey and could be used by either side. The cockpits and armor pieces were red for the bad guys and blue for the good guys. There were also black gun pieces and some glow-in-the-dark domes and radar dishes. Here are a couple pics of some of my pieces: http://allspark.net/cypherswipe/legion-toys-1.jpg http://allspark.net/cypherswipe/legion-toys-2.jpg

I used to play with the legions of power figures and vehicles all the time. I loved how each vehicle could be taken apart and rebuilt in any fashion I could come up with. I still have four vehicles and all the figures they came with.
