Campri Ski Jackets

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Campri ski jackets were all the rage in the mid 80s. With a neon coloured mountain on the back of a dark ski jacket you could be seen for miles. Obviously, they weren't just seen on the slopes but down all the aisles of Shoppers Paradise across the country!

I used to have 2, the 1st being a yellow and black with a big flap at the front, which was also a pocket, me mate had 1 the same so we kept swapping, I also had a med blue one with yellow campri down 1 arm and a big helliski logo on the back, i loved this jacket and wished i could get another, my ex wife ruined them both, with her dirty horses,

I still own a couple of my early 90's ski jackets, a Campri one (Bright green, blue and navy), a French 'De Gamo' (Bright Green, Purple & navy) and a 'ski power' (Red, Black & White), I am glad I kept hold of them now, as they really do remind me and my mates of some of the happier dayz at skool. If you ask me though, think I'd rather go back to college than school. These are now a part of my ever growing collection of coats from the 1980's to present day, reaching around 400 coats.

I had a couple of these (the 90s "loud" type) in my mid-to-late teens. One of them had a bright fluorescent pink lining. I wouldn't be seen dead in it now!

Campri Ski jackets (or similar) seem to appear every decade or so. I suffered them in the 70s, when they came in pervy wet look nylon, (my mum bought my Brother one, covered in studs and zips, you needed and instruction book to get it on and off), I laughed at him, she bought me one. Took me months to destroy it enough to get in binned. In the 80's they were cool, my first early 80's one was red white and blue, my second was in the late 80's, the one mentioned previously with the flourescent triangle on the back and giant letters down one sleeve. The other sleeve had a patch pocket that soem funny git put a toothbrush in one time!!! They did a poor mans version of a bubble jacket in the 90's, not very puffy but whatever it was lined with made you sweat like a pig. There was also a final ski jacket with extremely loud graphics on it, felt like a prat at first but endured until everyone on the bus realised I didn't care. Haven't seen a 21st century version, so they must have finally died a death!!!
