The train station waiting room scene at the end of "Trains, Planes and Automobiles" with Steve Martin, has me in floods of tears every time!

I first saw him playing Freddie in 'Splash', Alan Bauer's loud-mouthed slobby brother who really has a heart of gold. I think 'Cool Runnings' was his last film, I was shocked when he died- it was such a waste of a superb talent and he was so young.

I bought "Cool Runnings" videa for my son when he was about ten, we watched and rewound to re-watch I don't know how many times but it was for an entire Easter day that was miserable weatherwise, we were still laughing and enjoying it the last time we watched it in that day and have watched it many times since. John Candy was superb "Great Outdoors" is another great film. In his short life he left huge memories and whilst watching his films it's as if we know him personally.

John Candy of course was Canadian, and a co-owner of the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League. Far superior to rubbish American football.

John Candy, the man with a big personality and a big heart. His films always make me laugh, but at the end I feel sad because of his death. A huge talent that and a great loss for the film industry and his family and friends.
