Transformers

Yes folks, the time tested, true blue, unbeatable, Transformers.

Growing up as a kid nothing could beat these toys.. I remember my first Transformer, G1 Starscream back in, god it had to have been 1986 or so. Anyway, nothing I say can do justice to this line, nor to the actual show itself.

The theme song still works it's way into my mind on the way to work some days.

A group of transforming robots crash-land on earth millions of years ago only to awaken in the "present day" Earth. (meaning the 80's in this case)

They venture forth from their ship, The Ark, only to discover that their mortal enemies, the Decepticons have followed them and are interested in our planet as well. It turns out that our humble little planet holds the key to winning the whole war which has been raging for millions of years. Energon.

This series lives on to this very day, albeit under a different name and a whole new storyline.

Still, The Transformers remain one of the coolest toy, cartoon show, movie, video game franchises of all time.

Author: Dalystar: "i didnt know most of the time wether megatron was galvatron". Foolish Human - Galvatron was the essenence of Evil that was Megatron, ressurected, galvanized if you will, in a form that no Autobot leader could destroy. Course it went tits up when The Matrix popped up and Unicron went super-nova.

I remember the two cassete players Soundwave and Blaster fighting and breakdancing in a discotech! The whole thing was an animated commercial for the toys. That's why characters would disappear. The people that drew it said so on the dvd extras..

the thing that really annoyed me about transformers was that i didnt know most of the time wether megatron was galvatron or vice versa, and another thing that annoys me is the fact that they ruin the transformers legacy by bringing out rubbish like beast wars. Long live the original transformer series.

lol Not to mention the inconsistant size of the robots compared to their human counterparts.. Soetimes they were equal size, sometimes the Transformers towered over them.. and what ever happened to Op's trailor when he changed to a robot? I guess it was supposed to turn into the little battle center thingy but where the hell was it during the "battles"? :P

Size. That was always something that bugged me about Transformers. The good guys (Autobots dontchaknow) all turned into cars and things - objects of a similar scale to their robot forms. The nasty Deceptacons however turned into a range of household and smaller objects, like cassette players, handguns, potato mashers etc... which meant they either had to shrink in size, or they were just really rubbish disguises and not going to fool anyone. The other problem here was that if you were playing with a mate, and you were on the bad guys side, you only ended up having half the fun... My mate pete: "chkchakchukchok... Dragstooor has turned into a v8-powered road beast, capable of 0-100 in 3 seconds.. He challenges evil AquaHeator to a race..." Me: "clickclakcluk... AquaHeator has turned into a kettle. I'm going home."
