The Woofits

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

I think the Woofits were a television programme about a family of Woofits (cuddly dog-like creatures). There were a lot of promotional goodies centred around them and I had the curtains and the duvet cover.

I just had a very nostalgic conversation with my sister and the subject of the woofits came crept up and we both agreed we simply had to play it again. Imagine my disappointment to find the google didn't even recognise this game at all. I am gutted! Does anyone out there have a woofits game? It was magnetised and was only small, but my sister and I spent many hours competing tlo be the best woofit and now that we're both approaching our late thirties, we really want to buy a set. Equally goes for anyone that tracks down a woofits duvet cover. Thanks, Jo.x

The Woofits started life as a greeting card character at a company called W.N.Sharpe ltd in Bradford, West Yorkshire. They were originally concieved and illustrated by Roger Hutchings. Following good sales results, they were licensed for other products, duvet covers, books e.t.c. I think the books were ghost - written and Parkinson's name used to boost sales. I know this stuff because I was unfortunate enough to have to work at W.N.Sharpe at the time.
