Piglets

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Does anyone remember the crisps which were shaped like pigs? They were bacon flavour and they were like little 3D pig shapes. No-one I know believes they existed but I remember them vividly as a child. Please, someone! They can't have just been sold in Petersfield!

Yes I remember them in my early school days in the 1970s and totally recall the baked beans flavour our school tuck shop were selling them at 5p and also Burtons thruppenny chocolate covered biscuits ( basically Viscount without mint/orange). Excellent memories

Nobody does crisps like the Brits, so many flavours and takes on them. All you get on holiday is crappy Lays....Plain and Paprika flavour. I remember these piglets being fantastic, a friend of mine thinks they did Baked Bean flavour too! What happened to Space Invaders?

I think I remember Bacon and bean flavour. Really crispy crunchy hollow pig shapes... The crisps of my dreams... I really wish they would re-release them... Retro stuff is very popular these days and I would personally buy boxes of em. Lovely things.

I remember them and I lived in Somerset. They were my favourite crisps back in the day. My daughter have me a book about the 70's and crisps were in there but not Piglets. I looked them up and came across your post. Yes. I remember them and loved them. Probably not PC to call bacon flavoured crisps Piglets anymore!

I worked at Burton's factory in Slough (under the Mars chocolate cloud) in the early 80s, when Piglets were introduced. The potato flour dough was rolled and cut into piggy shapes, and expanded in 3D Piglets when deep fried. Getting the dough right was tricky, as was maintaining the right colour of fried Piglets - they over-cooked very easily, and blackened Piglets didn't taste very nice!

I remember Piglets and have looked them up online many times. Since you worked at Burtons, please could you settle an arguement? I swear I remember Baked Bean flavoured ones but noone else on the planet seems to!!

I remember Burtons Piglets well!! Was just googling them as was starting to believe I dreamt them up! I loved those. The last time I bought them was around 1987 at a caravan park corner shop in Padstowe, Cornwall, when I was 7. I had already noticed not seeing them in ages then, so made the most of that shop as they were favourites of mine. They had a similar flavour to those heated corn crisps you could get not long ago from some Cineworlds - I think they were called "Krax" - lol, not a very appetising name :P
