Eerie Public Information Films During Assembly

During the 1970's there were mammoth eerie public information short films made by British television broadcasters, most of them warning children about the dangers of playing on railway tracks; flying kites near electric pylon towers and staying safe from bonfire rockets.  These commercials were re-run sometime during or after school assembly in the afternoon in 1982/3 despite being made almost a decade earlier and always terrifyingly brutal to the sensitive child. Charlie the talking cat comes to mind and warning children about accepting sweets from strangers. I was left positively bewildered by most of these films because of the dangers I experienced were living in the family home as oppossed to outside of it! I would love to get a DVD compilation of them all yet not sure if one exists, yet just to remind myself of the the uncertanties of childhood back in the day.
