Billy Liar

Picture a young male in the early sixties, just before the "Swinging Sixties". Boring job, boring home, boring life. His answer? Live in a total imaginary world where he can indulge his megalomania and control everything! Ideal? Yes, until all the fantasies spill over into 'real-life' and everything could collapse around his ears!

A hilarious film, made all the more enjoyable by frequent appearances of the delightful Julie Christie.

The novel was tragic, but the series was very funny. Grandma was hilarious - we didn't see enough of her! Obviously in the final stages of dementia, her totally irrelevant comments were priceless!
