Adidas Corsica/Palermo/Tenerife/Sardinia

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

In the 80s, Adidas shoes were very popular (remember Adidas Kicks?). They were also really expensive! There was one style of trainers called Corsica, which were a mid-brown lace-up. There were also styles called Palermo, which was a light-brown lace-up, and Tenerife, a light-brown slip-on, and Sardinia, a black lace-up.

Adidas Kick were my first pair of Adidas, I’ve worn Adidas ever since, just wish I’d looked after them and still had some of the original as you can make a pretty penny for them now. Even though Adidas Originals are remaking a lot of the old style shoes, they may not have the same name. Especially if named after a City or Country. Back in the 80s they basically did what they wanted and nobody done anything, now though they can’t get the license to name a lot of them due to copyright and will be sued for millions if they do.

I owned the Palermos which my dad took back with a fault, so I could change them for the less common Sardinias. Probably the most popular was the Corsica trainer, which are like gold dust these days - even on eBay!
