Dizzy Heights Hotel

Dizzy Heights was a BBC children's programme based in a hotel with humans and puppets. I think there were mice living in the stairs as well.

The show was about Mr Heap and Mr Wall's who ran the hotel with their family of chaotic puppets.

The show ran for three years, from 1990 to 1993 after which, the Gristle family appeared in a series of their own called "The House Of Gristle" in 1994.

Dizzy heights was brilliant. I believe Mark Heap (Of Big Train, Spaced etc.) was in it. Just to point out, the picture on this entry is of Doc Croc and Vincent from Round The Bend.

This was very funny until (I think) they changed some of the characters later on. The puppets were of the Spitting Image kind and included a family of three constantly holidaying at the hotel, with bratty son Eustace. I can still imitate his voice! I think it was just called Dizzy Heights, not Dizzy Heights Hotel. I remember once they had the girl who sang the theme song on CBBC. They'd switched to an instrumental version by then, so on that day, CBBC didn't bring up the opening titles full-screen at first and she sang along, live! "Come to the best hotel in the world, there's room for everyone..."
