Secret Chocolate Bar

Secret Chocolate Bar : The Secret Chocolate bar was made by Nestle in the 80's and 90's and was one of the most delicious treats ever. It had a sort of bird's nest chocolate outer with a creamy mousse center similar to the inside of a Walnut Whip. They came in a white protective card sleeve and apparently had a gold wrapper with the word Secret written on it in purple.

The television advert featured an elegant lady sat on a train eating her Secret bar 'in secret' with the accompanying music "I see her face everywhere I go... Have you seen her?..."

Unfortunately the Secret Chocolate Bar was withdrawn from sale due to the high production costs and low volume of sales.

Hi everyone, just to let you's all know it was Nestle who made it. I contacted them and unfortunately they said we are sorry to inform you that Secret Bar has been withdrawn from our range due to the high cost of production and the relatively low level of sales. We would like to assure you that the decision to withdraw any product is reached only with great reluctance and we regret any disappointment this product's absence has caused you. There are no plans to re introduce this product at the present time.

We've got to start up a campaign to Nestle to bring them back, but only as long as they dont make any changes to ruin all our memories!

Now twenty years old have suffered the same frustration as many other people on this site, and have frequently questioned the very existance of the chocolate treat. I have been thinking about this choc bar since they stopped making it back in the 90's. That really put a downer on life at the time and life has not been the same since. I don't even like chocolate but this stuff was laced with drugs probably, as it was pure addictive!!!!!!!!!- Nestle should get off their bureaucratic high horse and make it return.

Also remembered...

Star bar

Star bar

Starbar was Cadbury's first attempt to take on the big gus - Mars and its Marathon bar in the mid-70s. It still exists today. The ad for it in the 70s featured a woman walking alongside a horse which was pulling a bage along a canal.(Not sure what that had to do with anything!). Other names the Star bar has gone under include: Moro Peanut in Ireland, Nunch, Nudge, Peanut Boost, and in Canada and Germany it's called Wunderbar. Whatever ou call it, it's very satisfying with a cup of tea or glass of milk. Mmmmm. .

...and do you remember these?
