The Basil Brush Show
The Basil Brush Show :
Basil Brush was a puppet fox who got his own TV show called er.. The Basil Brush Show. The format of the show usually involved Mr Roy, Mr Billy or Mr Howard trying to read a story whilst the mischievous fox would interrupt and misbehave. It was rare to hear more than a page of the story.
Basil Brush's humour worked on two levels - funny mischief would make the kids laugh and topical wisecracks would keep the adults amused (Boom Boom!)
Basil Brush later went on to appear on Crackerjack.

Also remembered...

Within These Walls is a British drama series shown on ITV between 1974 and 1978. It was something of a precursor to the likes of Prisoner Cell Block H and Bad Girls. It was based around the lives of prison staff (rather than the prisoners) at the fictional prison, HMP Stonepark. The lead character of Within These Walls was the well-groomed governor Faye Boswell (Googie Withers). She was mainly reoccupied with liberalising the prison regime as well as her personal life. Another prominent character was her deputy, Mrs. Armitage (Mona Bruce). Another successful actress from this series was Helen Worth, now widely known for her role of Gail Platt on Coronation Street.
