The Sweater Shop

This Memory is looking a little short on nostalgia! Have you got anything you could add?

Does anyone remember the Sweater Shops in the late 80s / early 90s that were all over the country and used to sell various t-shirts and jumpers with the Sweater Shop written on them? Why did we all wear these?!

The Sweater Shop - Cambridge, York, Windsor. That was the logo. Then they opened up hundreds of stores all over the place, overstretched themselves I think, and went bust. Maybe should have stuck to the 3 stores. Still got my couple of sweater shop jumpers though, albeit a bit past their best!

benetton- your were in, if you wore benetton. I think I had at least 4 Benetton jumpers. A colour for any occasion. Even more fashionable was a Benneton jumper with a black polo neck top underneath. Oh I was so fashionable in 1992.

I had also thought I was the bees knees when I got my first Sweater Shop jumper for my 11th birthday! It was massive and my mum had to shrink it in the tumble dryer so it would fit me! Thinking about it now tho, we where all just walking around wearing free advertising for the Sweater Shop!! Every one had their t shirts and jumpers, you just weren't cool in my school if you didn't wear their stuff!
