Roast Ox Crisps

Immortalised by Vivian of The Young Ones, Roast Ox crisps were a firm favourite from the crisp aisle when I was a lad. I've completely forgotten who made them - it was neither Smiths nor Golden Wonder, but someone out there will fill in the gap in my memory. They had an odd sort of mystery meat flavour to them that might easily have been ox, although it might just as easily have been Thompson's Gazelle. I don't recall the ingredients listed on the bag as including "Ox Extract" or "Roasted Meat powder" or anything of that nature. Actually, they were more likely to have been bought in the pub, now that I think more about it. Roast Ox crisps. One bag was never enough.
