Hickory House

Hickory House was just a normal house, where everything was alive, stimulated children's imaginations and was educational and fun.

Humphrey Cushion and Dust Mop starred alongside human presenters such as Amanda Barrie (Alma in Coronation Street), Alan Rothwell and Louise Hall-Taylor.

Hickory House was first aired in 1973 and ran for a hundred episodes.

I loved this programme!

From what little I can remeber of this programme, Humphrey Cushion used to put his bananas in a pouch in his cushion body for later consumpsion.

Hurrah! At last! Humphrey Cushion and Dusty Mop have been proved not to be a figment of my imagination too! What Humphrey looked like is a little patchy, but i remember him eating bananas! From what I remember it was a cracking little programme.

I remember it well and yes - everyone thinks I must have been on some serious cough medicine as a kid! The reason I think no-one remembers it that it may have only been shown on Granada & Border TV. Also I used to go home from school for lunch so I saw it all of the time! Please someone release it on DVD!!!!!!
