Eurovision Song Contest

Every year up to 600 million people tune in to watch singers from all over Europe compete to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Although the music usually receives widespread criticism, occassionally one song will stand out as being really rather good.

Some of the better Eurovision songs came from the likes of Abba, Bucks Fizz and Cliff Richard.

In the UK the show used to be commentated by Terry Wogan whose witty comments about the competitors became increasingly rude as the evening progressed and as he became more and more drunk.

And if that wasn't entertaining enough you then have the farcical scoring process where each country ignores the musical merits of each performer and instead votes politically based on which country they like and gives no points to the nations they hate.
