Monkees Trading Cards

These were cards depicting scenes from the TV show The Monkees, with all your favourite actors in them. The best part was that the packs had banana-flavoured gum in them, which meant they were often referred to as 'bubblegum cards'. You could also buy a special Monkees trading cards album to display your collection in. I bet they're worth a bit these days if you had the foresight to keep them pristine back then.

I remember collecting Monkees cards - my ones had the lyrics of a song on the back of each one.

Popular in the mid-late 1960s, there were also horror-themed trading cards. These bubblegum cards included memorable characters like Transparent Man and other assorted ghoulish characters - great for freaking out the little kids in the school playground!
