The popular Blockbusters TV quiz show ultimately made it to a board game. One person would be Bob Holnes (the quizmaster) and the other players would shout out "Can I have a P please Bob" (with hilarious consequences).

There was a plastic grid of letters with hexagonal playing pieces and the idea was to try to answer enough questions to make a path from one side of the board to the other with your hexagons without your opponent getting their pieces in the way.

    There was a wonderful urban myth that Bob Holness played the sax solo in Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street - of course he didn't! I remember watching Blockbusters on TV with a question about Baker Street - Bob looked straight into the camera and said: "Great sax solo!"

    "I'll have a P please Bob" Ha we used to think that game was great! I remember watching it when I was in primary school! We had the Blockbusters board game for Christmas one year..... I must try and dig it out and have a game!

    oh i used to love this game! I was only about 5 but my older brother had it and when he went out i used to get it from his cupboard and sit making patterns with the board and the blue and white peices!

    IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECREATE BLOCKBUSTERS, USEING TODAYS YOUTH FROM SECONDRY SCHOOLS AS IN THE ORIGINAL PROGRAMS,BUT KEEP THE SAME QUESTIONS ? THIS SHOULD GIVE US AN ACCURATE INDICATION AS TO WHERE THE EDUCATION SYSTEM IS HEADING.
