Mama's Family was a spinoff from the Carol Burnett Show. It featured a hard-headed Grandmother named Thelma Harper ("Mama") who lived with her live-in son, Vinton and daughter-in-law Naomi and nephew Bubba in Raytown, Missouri. Not quite an area considered 'Southern', but the on-screen personas were that of a Southern Family.
Mama's neighbor Iola Boilin was her best friend, known best on the show as the one who would say "Knock Knock". Mama seemed to like drinking a beer(don't you wish all grandmothers were like that?) to relax.
