"Sometimes tears and sorrow are all the things you've got, just when you think you're all by yourself you're not!" So the theme tune went.

This was the story of two divorcees, Kate and Allie (hence the title) who shared a house along with Kate's daughter and Allie's son and daughter.

I think the series eventually came to an end shortly after Allie remarried a wealthy guy and moved out. Allie was played by Jane Curtain who now stars in "3rd Rock from the Sun".

    I loved this. I loved the acting, characters, and the groundbreaking set-up - two divorced women merging their families into one. Excellent! Warm and happy memories - a top '80s show.
