I was very sorry when his son Connor died falling out of a hotel window, but that tribute song 'If I Saw You In Heaven' I must admit makes me sick- I HATE it! Clapton took the role of The Rev. Simpson in the film version of The Who's 'Tommy', father of Sally Simpson whose love for The Pinball Wizard goes unrequited. I once had the opportunity of buying a '50s Buick convertible that had once belonged to Clapton- for some reason it was going very cheaply in the Classified section of a classic car mag. (probably the bottom was falling out or something). Decided against it anyway- I prefer my Vauxhall Cresta!!

Eric Clapton is perhaps one of the most amazing rock-n-roll guitarists in the world. His solo performances and performances with Cream are top-notch and engrossing. One of my favorite tunes is "Layla."
