Chockablock

Chockablock was an educational kids TV show from 1981. A HUGE computer with lots of flashing lights was the star of the show along with the host (a man in overalls). The computer had a chute and the host used to put items down this for Chockablock to tell you about it. But the really cool bit was at the end because the host would drive out of shot on a tiny motorised car... (I still want that car).

I read Chock-a-girl became a psychotherapist!! Best programme ever when I was five. I built Chock-a-Block and the Rock-a-Blocks from Sticklebricks, the latter with pictures stuck on from catalogues, e.g. fire and tyre. Also asked for Chock-a-Car for Christmas - got a rather nice go-kart and didn't know the difference - result! Could the Chock-a-Car by any chance have been a BBC scenery truck in disguise? It was created I think by Michael Cole who was also behind Bod, Gran etc. - and produced by the team behind Play School. According to missing episodes sites BBC wiped eight out of thirteen in the Nineties and only kept VHS copies! Makes me want to make that "wrong answer" noise. WRRRUURRR!

Chock-a-bloke checking in,Chock-a-cloke was played by Fred Harris and Chock-a-girl was Carol Leader, like one I remember was a snake stuck in the machine and it was things that rhymed with it like Cake,Rake,Hake etc and he would turn the roller thing and say something like lose the snake and rock the cake, Shamefully have to admit that I was about 10 year old at the time, but so what, still watched Play School even at that age as well!!!!!!
